Exactly one week after the Junior Choir had their public premiere, the Senior Choir took the stage at the Octagon Theatre at the University of Western Australia for the Children’s Sing Festival. The purpose of this event was to learn some challenging repertoire and showcase it to the adjudicator and others at the festival.
Everyone who was present at the Festival will tell you that the Senior Choir was outstanding and our adjudicator Mary-Anne Goyder (coordinator of the Massed Choir Festival) also agreed! We performed “Shackleton” by Paul Jarman, a song that reminisces on Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Trans-Antarctic Expedition and “Kusimama” by Jim Papoulis, a piece written in Swahili that means “Stand Tall”.
